Terms of Service

1. Who we are and what you are agreeing to

LEX is provided by INFYNITY LINK ("we", "us"). It is a workspace for law firms. By creating a LEX workspace, accepting an invitation to one, or using LEX, you agree to these Terms on behalf of yourself and the firm whose workspace you use (the "Firm").

If you were invited by a Firm administrator, that administrator controls your access and can remove it. The Firm is responsible for everyone it invites.

2. The service

LEX helps a firm process documents (classification, extraction of facts, drafts, summaries and compliance flags), keep case and client records, notes and tasks, ask questions of an AI assistant called Lex, export drafts to Word, and, for administrators, track case values and fees.

LEX is new and evolves quickly. Features will change, some may be withdrawn, and you may find rough edges. We will tell workspace administrators about material changes.

3. Not legal advice. You stay responsible.

LEX and Lex produce drafts, summaries and suggestions for licensed professionals to review. They can be wrong, incomplete or out of date, and they do not know facts you have not given them.

The Firm and its lawyers remain solely responsible for reviewing, verifying and deciding what to do with anything LEX produces, and for meeting their professional obligations. INFYNITY LINK does not practice law, and nothing in LEX creates an attorney–client relationship with INFYNITY LINK.

4. Accounts and your team

Keep your sign-in details private and tell us promptly if you believe an account has been used without permission. You are responsible for activity under your account. Administrators are responsible for who they invite, the roles they grant, and for removing people who leave the Firm. Accounts are personal: one person per account, and one active sign-in at a time — signing in on another device or browser signs the others out, and changing your password signs out every other device.

5. Your content stays yours

The Firm owns the documents, records, notes, drafts and other content it puts into LEX ("Firm Content"). You give INFYNITY LINK permission to host, store, process and transmit Firm Content only as needed to provide the service to you, including sending it to the AI provider named in our Privacy & data handling page.

You confirm that the Firm has the right to upload its content and to have it processed this way, including any client consents or confidentiality steps its rules require.

5a. Directory listings (Find a Firm)

A Firm may publish a listing in Find a Firm, our public advertising directory, for a flat monthly listing fee agreed with the Firm in writing. The fee never depends on inquiries, leads or cases, and it buys no placement or ranking: listings are alphabetical and a listing leaves the directory while its fee is unpaid. Listing is optional. By publishing, the Firm's administrator attests that every lawyer named is licensed and in good standing in the jurisdictions shown (for a South African firm, admitted and enrolled with the Legal Practice Council) and that the listing is accurate, and the Firm is responsible for keeping it accurate and for complying with the advertising rules of its jurisdiction (for a South African firm, the Legal Practice Council's rules on advertising and touting; the listing is the Firm's advertisement and INFYNITY LINK pays and receives no referral fee).

INFYNITY LINK does not verify listings, does not rank, recommend or endorse firms, is not a lawyer referral service and charges no referral, per-lead or per-case fee. INFYNITY LINK may hide or remove a listing at any time, and a Firm may unpublish its listing at any time. Inquiries sent through a listing are delivered to the email address the Firm chose and kept in the Firm's workspace as Firm Content.

5b. Firms in South Africa (POPIA operator terms)

Where the Firm is a responsible party under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA), INFYNITY LINK processes the personal information the Firm uploads as the Firm's operator: only to provide LEX, only on the Firm's instructions (sections 20 and 21), treating it as confidential, and with the security safeguards described on the Privacy & data handling page (section 19).

Where there are reasonable grounds to believe that personal information INFYNITY LINK processes for the Firm has been accessed or acquired by an unauthorized person, INFYNITY LINK notifies the Firm as soon as reasonably possible (section 22) so that the Firm can notify the Information Regulator and the data subjects concerned. The Firm remains the responsible party: it decides what it uploads, and it handles requests from data subjects, with INFYNITY LINK's help where needed.

INFYNITY LINK uses the sub-operators listed on the Privacy & data handling page, all of them in the United States. The Firm's transfer of personal information to INFYNITY LINK rests on section 72(1)(a): these Terms are a binding agreement that gives the information protection substantially similar to the conditions POPIA imposes, and they are the written contract section 21(1) requires between a responsible party and its operator.

The governing-law clause below stays as written, and nothing in it removes rights POPIA gives the Firm or its clients.

6. Acceptable use

Use LEX lawfully and for its intended purpose. In particular, do not:

• upload content you have no right to share with a service provider;
• try to reach another firm's workspace or data, or probe, scan or test our security without written permission;
• overload the service, automate access in ways we have not agreed to, or resell it;
• present AI output to a court, client or opposing party as verified without reviewing it;
• reverse engineer the service or remove our notices.

7. Fees and usage allowances

Until a public price list exists, pricing is whatever we agree with the Firm in writing. AI usage is subject to a fair-use daily allowance shown inside the app; if a Firm regularly exceeds it we will talk to the Firm before changing anything.

8. Availability and changes

We work to keep LEX available and secure, but we do not promise a particular uptime. We may change, suspend or discontinue features, and will give reasonable notice where that is practical. Keep copies of anything you cannot afford to lose.

9. Ending the agreement

The Firm can stop using LEX at any time and ask us to close its workspace. We can suspend or end access for a breach of these Terms, for unpaid fees after notice, or if we discontinue the service.

When a workspace closes, the Firm can request an export of its content first. We delete the Firm's content 30 days after the workspace closes, except what we must keep by law or for accounting. Details are in the Privacy & data handling page.

10. Disclaimer and limits on liability

LEX is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows.

To the fullest extent the law allows, INFYNITY LINK is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, lost profits, or losses arising from reliance on AI output, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees the Firm paid us in the twelve months before the claim (or one hundred US dollars if none were paid). Some laws do not allow these limits, in which case they apply as far as permitted.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, and its courts have exclusive jurisdiction, except where the law of your location, such as POPIA for a Firm in South Africa, gives you rights we cannot override. Before starting a claim, write to us at service@asklex.legal and we will try to sort it out informally.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version at https://asklex.legal/terms with a new effective date and, for material changes, email workspace administrators. Continuing to use LEX after the effective date means you accept the update.
